We have recently acquired the new and improved version of the Kurgo dog seat belts. How are these pet car harnesses better? They have metal buckles instead of plastic. Kurgo has done more research into the safety of their products. They have completed more safety tests as well.
The enhanced Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harnesses have undergone three important safety tests:
1. Dynamic static line test,
2. Tensile strength test,
3. Crash testing using a sled test.
The tests show that the enhanced harness can withstand 2,250 pounds of force. This improvement is made in part by the new all-metal nesting buckles. What are nesting buckles? They are similar to the buckles used by rock climbers and linesmen.
Our dog Maya is now wearing the new enhanced Kurgo dog car harness (top photo) and she loves it. It fits her well. She is wearing the red one, but note that PetAutoSafety.com currently only has the black one available. To get a discount, feel free to use discount code, petfriend, for 10% off.
Kurgo makes great pet travel products such as the Wander Pet Car Hammock, the Tru-Fit Smart Dog Car Harness, the Backseat Barrier, and the Backseat Bridge. They are well-made, very useful and safe, and best of all they have a lifetime guarantee. Since we like Kurgo so much, we have decided to expand from our pet auto safety base and have added the Kurgo Wander Back Pack for Dogs.
So what does a back pack for pets have to do with dog car safety?
Pet – This one speaks for itself.
Auto – Your dog has to ride in the car before he can get to his favorite hiking spot to use his new back pack.
Safety – This one is a stretch but the Kurgo Wander Back Pack for Dogs has four reflective strips (two on the top and one on either side) for just in case your dog is hiking in the woods at night.
So mostly the Wander Pack has to do with pet travel. Plus, we just wanted to order them so that our own dogs could use them! In fact, that is our dog Maya in the photo above wearing hers.
Like other Kurgo products, the Wander Back Pack for Dogs has a lifetime guarantee. So if you plan on going on a hiking trip with your dog to Colorado, Missouri, or other great hiking spots, consider a Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Dog Car Harness and the Kurgo Wander Back Pack for Dogs.
Be sure to check us out next week for another new pet auto safety product. We are adding a bunch of new pet travel products in May.
One of our wonderful customers sent us a picture of her dog Harley (a Manchester Terrier) wearing his new Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Dog Car Harness.
We have added an extra small dog car harness from Kurgo to our Pet Auto Safety.com website. In the past, the smallest dog who could wear a Kurgo Tru-Fit dog car harness was a small dog with a 16-22 inch girth. Because there are a lot of dogs who are much smaller than this, some customers could not use a Kurgo brand dog car harness.
Since Kurgo has now added an extra small dog car harness, little dogs with a girth between 12-18 inches can now wear the Tru-Fit dog car harness. The Kurgo Tru-Fit dog car harness secures your dog in the car using the loop-system tether. The tether on the back of the harness is a loop in which the seat belt of your car goes through. This restricts your dog’s movement a bit, but that is a good thing since he will not be tossed around so much in the event of a car accident.
The extra small Kurgo Tru-Fit dog car harness is still not the smallest dog car harness that Pet Auto Safety has. The standard Guardian Gear dog car harness brand should fit little dogs with a girth as small as 10 inches. The PetBuckle dog car harness brand should also fit little dogs with a girth as small as 10 inches.
