Do you enjoy hiking with your dog? Do you like country music? If you happen to be living in or visiting central Texas, then we have the perfect day planned for you and your dog.
First stop is Enchanted Rock. Enchanted Rock is located just 20 minutes north of Fredericksburg, Texas and 25 miles south of Llano, Texas. Enchanted Rock is a rock formation created out of molten lava and exposed by over a billion years of erosion. There are a lot of fantastic nature trails. Some hiking trails are short and some are for more experienced hikers. You can also go camping in the Enchanted Rock state park, do some rock climbing, have a picnic, and enjoy bird watching. If you love nature as I do, I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun you will have exploring Enchanted Rock with your dog. Here is an informational video about this great place.
After you’re done seeing the beautiful landscape of Texas, you will want to relax and drink a cold beer. How about stopping by the famous old town of Luckenbach, Texas? Dogs on leashes are definitely welcome. Luckenbach is about 15 minutes southeast of Fredericksburg. It attraction is an old post office and general store, and oftentimes has folks playing some good old fashioned country music. Be sure to try the Shiner Bock beer, a Texas favorite brewed in Shiner, Texas. See what Luckenbach looks like with this video.
The song played in this video is sung by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson who started the tradition of country music concerts in Luckenbach.
We want to thank our dog friends Wyatt and Jerry for telling us about Luckenbach. Wyatt and Jerry are a couple of three-legged dogs known as tripawds. Read about them and their experiences by clicking below:
